Long distance

onweekonedoodle.com is forced to take a little vacation.  The home computer is dead.  After ten years of good and loyal services…[rewind]…of services, my computer has died and my efforts to revive it have so far remained vain.  Time of death: sometime during the night of Monday to Tuesday.

I have vivid memories of its first entry into my home, quickly followed by an urge to throw it through the window.  But, instead, I simply adjusted to its numerous flaws which made it a good companion after all.  Also, its flaws made me a better person: besides patience I have become a little bit geekier and the wise person in me had recently made a back up of ten years worth of data.  So I’m safe rather than sorry.  It’s time to smash the hard drive and to send the rest to recycling.

It was perhaps no coincidence that all the artistic projects in which I had been invited to take part around this time of the year have gone bust.  It is making my unwired home life much easier.  Anyway, it is nearly time to pack for my five-week trip to the Himalaya.

Namaste all and I hope to be back online with Mr Mac (or something along those lines) by the end of October.
